Richard Cordery - page under construction
An actor with a natural authority on stage adds greatly to any production. As an example, imagine the RSC's recent history cycle without the presence of Richard Cordery. The actors played multiple roles, but whenever Cordery was on stage the scene acquired clarity and significance, covering what might otherwise have been seen as cracks in the production.
I first saw Richard Cordery in a recital at Stratford-upon-Avon with Corin Redgrave. It was a delightful, entertaining evening with, for me, the bonus of discovering a fine actor new to me. Cordery's intelligence, intuition and humour endeared him to the audience.
Richard appeared in Spring Awakening at the Lyric Hammersmith until 14th March 2009. The production transfered to the Novello Theatre in London’s West End on21 March. He will be in The Power of Yes by David Hare at the National Theatre from 13 October 2009.
